The Educational Institution Secondary School “Express”
The Educational Institution Secondary School “Express”, Saint-Petersburg, has been working since 1997. The Institution has a state accreditation N AA011168, reg. N469-YP/714 of 06.05.2003. The Institution “Express” realizes the program of the individual training. So, the organization of accompaniment of external students (taking account of different levels of their education, age, attitude to the educational process and specific requirements) is the main purpose of the teacher’s staff.
The work guided by the individual program “Individual Education” of 2000 and 2004 showed up social-pedagogical conditions defining activities of an educational institution where only external form of completion of secondary general education is realized.
The teacher’s staff of the Institution “Express” has developed teaching methods, gathered methodical materials and has published different brochures for extern’s training in all basic subjects of the educational curriculum.
In general, education of the teacher’s staff has achieved perceptible results in traditional indexes: during the last 3 years the per cent of externs inferring higher school and colleges varied from 72 % to 84 % of all students completed secondary school. Besides every year 8-12 % of senior students find new jobs or improve their working conditions.
In connection with modernization of education in Russia the teacher’s staff is planning to renovate the substance of education within 2 years. We are going to create conditions for the organization of professional training.
For the last years Institution “Express” can distinguish the following achievements:
1. Gaining the tender of Saint-Petersburg Educational Committee to represent Saint-Petersburg education system at the exhibition “School 2001” in Moscow;
2. Participation and gaining in the contest “Education for the Sake of Better life”, project N27: “New Opportunities” of the New Quality of Education: External Institution”;
3. Conferment the status of Federal Experimental Establishment (Order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation N691 if 04.03.2003).

Saint-Petersburg Secondary School “Express” is working on the project “Organization of the individual educational routes”.
The work on this project is supposed to include:
- Studying the experience of different institutions in organization of individual education,
- Establishment of contacts among teachers interested in this problem,
- Organization of teachers training seminars devoted to the different aspects of individual education,
- Investigation and improvement of distant education methods on the basis of local nets and Internet,
- Methods of organization profile education for high school students.
